Composition
The preparation is a single lyophilised powder containing three compounds, CJC-1295, ipamorelin and sermorelin, with a total peptide mass of 30 mg per vial. The mass of each component has not been confirmed, so no per-compound split is stated; the catalogue record carries the total quantity only until a split is verified against a certificate.
CJC-1295 is a name applied to two chemically distinct analogues of growth hormone-releasing hormone fragment 1-29. The form carrying the albumin-binding drug affinity complex is a 30-residue peptide recorded with CAS 446262-90-4, UNII 62RC32V9N7, PubChem CID 91971820, formula C165H269N47O46 and a molecular weight of 3647.2 g/mol; the form without it is the 29-residue tetrasubstituted GRF(1-29) amide, CAS 446036-97-1, PubChem CID 56841945, formula C152H252N44O42 and 3367.9 g/mol, for which no UNII exists 1234. Which of the two is supplied is unconfirmed, and FDA treats them as different active moieties 4.
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue recorded with CAS 170851-70-4, UNII Y9M3S784Z6, PubChem CID 9831659, formula C38H49N9O5 and a molecular weight of 711.9 g/mol 5678.
Sermorelin is the synthetic 29-residue amide corresponding to the N-terminal fragment of human growth hormone-releasing hormone, sequence YADAIFTNSYRKVLGQLSARKLLQDIMSR, recorded with CAS 86168-78-7, UNII 89243S03TE, PubChem CID 16132413, formula C149H246N44O42S and a molecular weight of 3357.9 g/mol 91011.
Analytical characterisation
Each compound in a multi-component preparation is identified and quantified separately on the same certificate of analysis. The data model pairs one certificate with one compound and records, per compound: a chromatographic purity figure with the high-performance liquid chromatography method used, and a mass-spectrometric identity line giving the method, the expected and observed masses and whether identity was confirmed, together with the assayed mass and net peptide content. A three-component preparation therefore produces three such rows on one certificate, and neither a combined purity figure nor a combined mass is meaningful across the set.
Sermorelin and the two CJC-1295 forms differ in molecular weight by amounts a single intact-mass measurement can resolve, which is why identity is recorded per compound rather than for the preparation. No pharmacopoeial monograph, official reference standard or impurity specification exists for any CJC-1295-related substance, so no compendial specification can be quoted for that line 4.
